Astrology 360: Aries

hitchensChristopher Hitchens (13 April 1949 – 15 December 2011) (55% Aries – Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, North Node) was an English-American author and journalist whose books include a posthumous essay collection called Mortality. He is known for his confrontational style of debate and his critiques of Mother Teresa, Bill and Hillary Clinton and Henry Kissinger among others. As a political observer and self-defined radical, he rose to prominence as a fixture of the left-wing in Britain and the US. After 9-11, he wrote for right-wing publications and picked fights with liberal thinkers like Noam Chomsky and Gore Vidal. Identified as one of the “Four Horsemen” of the “new atheism,” Hitchens described himself as an anti-theist and a believer in the philosophical values of the Enlightenment. He died in 2011 of esophageal cancer.

vigelandGustav Vigeland (April 11, 1869 – March 12, 1943) (68% Aries – Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, ASC) was a Norwegian sculptor whose themes include death, love, family, aggression and humanity through all life’s ages. Another frequent theme is the dragon as a symbol of sin and a force of nature, against which man must fight. Vigeland Park is the world’s largest sculpture park made by a single artist, with more than 200 sculptures in bronze, granite and wrought iron (scroll down this page to see photos). He was also in charge of the design and architectural layout of the park, completed between 1939 and 1949. Inspired by the works of Rodin, ancient and Renaissance artists, he is considered the most talented sculptor in Norwegian history. Vigeland also designed The Nobel Peace Prize Medal.
